We're so far ahead of the curve.” Located in an office in Philadelphia is a company that has basically revolutionized the way adult movies are viewed over the internet. HotMovies.com has been in existence for more than 18 years; but only in the past three years has the company reached the masses as they are currently reaching. “We grew tremendously as a result of a huge effort to build our brand in a variety of ways,” said Stan Gibell, senior account executive for HotMovies.com. “Marketing and promotion is the reason we’ve seen the growth we have in the past three years.” Gibell revealed the company spends its advertising dollars on the internet, on flyers and in print advertising. “There isn’t an adult publication that you can pick up today where you won’t see our ad,” said Gibell. As a result of a huge marketing campaign, HotMovies.com has grown to more than 32,000 movies on its website and boasts more than 900 providers of adult movies from the United States and Europe. The company has more than 300 employees spread out in its Philadelphia office and at satellite offices throughout the country. The Pay-Per-Minute company features no memberships and no monthly fees. A customer can register their email address and simply buy time and use it whenever they want. This way the customer avoids regular recurring billing associated with other websites. “Once someone visits HotMovies.com everyone loves the site. It’s very user friendly. As a result our providers are happy with the results of putting videos on our site,” Gibell stated. Running an adult website requires two main components: providers and customers. HotMovies.com treats its providers right by giving them 20% of whatever people spend to watch their movies. Gibell would not reveal which company has received the largest paycheck or how much it has been for. But he did reveal that several companies are receiving five figure paychecks for the past few months. HotMovies.com pays its providers once per month. The minimum amount for pay out is $50 per month. If a provider has not reached the minimum amount of movies ordered to reach the $50 commission then the payment would not take place until the following month. Webmasters also get a percentage of what they send to HotMovies.com and HotMovies.com will also take the time to build a provider a box cover if the company does not already have one in place. Movies generally take seven to 10 business days for HotMovies.com to get online for customers to view from the time they first get the movie. “Nobody can do what we do. We’re so far ahead of the curve,” explained Gibell. “People can offer Video On Demand, but nobody can offer where you can watch per minute. Only we can do it. And we offer our services to those companies that want to take advantage of it.” The company offers all kinds of movies for its customers including a gay site at GayHotMovies.com. There are five different price plans available for the customers including Pay Per Minute, 48 hours of Rental, Download Movies to Your Harddrive, 10 Minutes for Free as a Trial Session or Use a Pre-Paid Movie Card. Customers can pay by check, credit card, debit card or money order. Surprisingly, Gibell said the company even accepts cash as a form of payment. “We’ve had people send us cash in the mail before with their name and email address and we’ll simply credit the amount to their account. Of course sending us cash in the mail is not the best way to pay for an account; but it is acceptable if that’s the only way you can do it. “Our goal is to increase our traffic and we expect by the end of 2006 that we’ll surpass all of our competition,” said Gibell. |
