MySpace has quickly become a great tool in today’s society for communicating with friends, sending out mass emails to specific groups and posting information about upcoming events.

T he site has quickly become a must have for any kind of business. Of course here at Adult Store Buyer Magazine, we have one (check us out at www.myspace.com/asbmagazine). From asking fans for their casting input for Shy Love’s Hustler/VCA directorial debut "My XXX Porn Space" to enhancing a company’s online presence and its brand, MySpace has "added" itself to the adult entertainment industry. MySpace began more than two years ago and has fast become one of the biggest social networking sites. Members can create a profie, build their company’s brand, increase their visibility online, and network with other businesses. ASB Magazine sent a MySpace bulletin that asked members of the adult entertainment industry to tell us how MySpace has affected their sales, business and career network. AARON PYREXIONS ASB: How long have you been on MySpace? AP: 2 years. ASB: What is the most beneficial thing you have gotten out of MySpace? AP: Networking with Kimberly Kane. At age 22 she is a spokes model and has her hand in everything. Ms. Kane has been really good to us here at Pyrexions. So many of these women in the industry are unapproachable. It can be difficult to approach these women like some of the female directors to explain what my product does. But Kimberly Kane is an exception to the rule. She is very differ ent and very real. ASB: Is there any negative thing you could say about MySpace? AP: Yes. HUGE companies ask me all the time "what will you give me for free?" When it comes to exchanges and freebies and helping, it’s all in how you approach me. I am more than willing to work with people in the industry and give them the best deal. After all, the stars don’t do scenes for free. ASB: Is there any event that you got because of MySpace? AP: Yes. There will be a Brianna Banks / Hustler photo shoot that will appear in Hustler’s March 2007 issue. ASB: Who would you give special thanks to on MySpace? AP: Kylie Ireland, Eli Cross, Tyler Faith, Wankus, Playboy, Hustler and Strip Las Vegas Magazine.

AE: It is accessible to every one of all ages. One suggestion to protect everyone involved in the adult entertainment industry is that MySpace could institute a control or a way that a person has to be 21 and older to even be able to click on any site of choosing on MySpace so that everything is in concordance with 2257 laws. ASB: What is the best thing you have gotten from MySpace? AE: I’ve gotten orders from MySpace that I would not have gotten without it. MySpace has been extremely useful. For example, I networked with a new model in the United Kingdom because of MySpace. I am able to network with other clothing companies for the models and vice versa. I’ve been working on a Fetish Show for someone relocating to Phoenix who never would have moved here if it were not for the connections we have made on MySpace.
ALLAN SMITH 3 Vision Entertainment ASB: What is the best thing you have gotten from MySpace? AS: It allows 3 Vision Entertainment the opportunity to connect with new talent as well as stay in touch with current talent and busi-ness contacts. Additionally, it allows us the marketing opportunity to announce 3VE news, events and new title releases. The best thing for 3 Vision Entertainment is that it has put us in di rect contact with our customers, as well as industry professionals. We have had nothing negative occur from myspace and consider it an asset to doing business these days.

John Donegan & Layley’s new photo book "Layley-Powerful & Sexual" is now available worldwide. The book features 190 photographs, almost all are nudes. It is available at Amazon. com, Barnes and Noble and Hustler Hollywood. ASB: Tell us about your experience on MySpace Layley: Well, I have just never been a computer person at all. And I hated math in high school! Computers are just not something I can spend time sitting at. Some of my friends are real computer geeks, but I would rather be out doing photos or being active. But my photographer John Donegan told me that once our fi rst book came out that I was going to have a lot of fans wanting to reach me. I really had no idea what to expect since I had never even posed nude before. I was just so honored that the big publisher Goliath/MixOfPix books in Germany picked the photos that John Donegan made of me to be their very fi rst book ever on one girl. That was enough to make me happy. So cool and such an honor! But John and I did put our email addresses in the back of the book and we did a website for the book so people could reach us and make com-ments, and a few have and that has been nice. It feels amazing to have people you have never met from all over the world, see your pictures and then tell you how much they like them. What a strange and new experience this is for me! Then John tells me he thinks we should do a MySpace page. So we do and then I started to feel overwhelmed by the people wanting to be my "friends". But I realize that this really is personal and that all these people really are making comments about my pictures and they are buying my book and then telling me what pages and what pictures they like the best. That is so cool! Find ing out what people like has given me a whole new look at this book of pictures of me. Now even I see some of my pictures in a new way because of the comments people have made. MySpace feels out of control sometimes like I will never be able to answer all these messages. But it sure is nice of people to write and it is such a thrill that people really want to talk to me! It’s so amazing that these pictures of me nude that John and I did are having such an effect on people. I do love hearing what my new friends think. I am not sure where all this will go, but so far it sure is exciting! Unfortunately, on a marketing level, it’s really hard to track statistics of how much it helps sales, so we don’t know if or how much of a difference it makes in pieces sold. But we do get lots of emails from people asking about cast lists of upcoming movies or release dates. Granted, we usually just refer them to the movie’s page on www. evilangel.com, but myspace is a good starting point for that kind of communication. We do get lots of emails from girls who want to work for us, and it’s an immediate way to see a bunch of pics on them. We send out bulletins about our upcoming releases and events that Evil Angel will be in attendance for."
ASB: How long have you been on MySpace? TD: I’ve had my personal page on MySpace since summer 2004 and Evil Angel has had a MySpace page since early 2006. ASB: What is the best thing you have gotten from MySpace? TD: From my personal profile, I met up with some of my old high school and college friends that I hadn’t talked to in years. On the Evil Angel profi le, I think it’s been a cool thing for the offi ce as a whole and our directors to collaborate on it together. It’s a fun group thing. We’ve just put up a jukebox where there can be a song from each of 20 different people at one time. It’s basically work, cause it’s promotional, but it’s something fun for us to do together. ASB: Is there any negative thing you could say about MySpace? TD: Well, it does get kind of old getting the messages over and over from guys who want to know how to become male talent. We even put on the main page that we don’t hire new guys and aren’t on MySpace to help new guys figure out how to get in the business.
